The concept of 'living information' is poularised by Unesco, through its Information for all program. Living information refers mainly to the utilization of information in life. In order to utilize information effectively, citizens have to be information literate. 'Information literacy' is a Western concept till now and slowly and gradually developing countries in the South are adapting 'information literacy' in their polices and programs, as they realize one has to be information literate, besides being literate in the information age.
